GABY CHASING COMMONWEALTH STANDARD
Gaby McNally has burst onto the early season track scene with two excellent hammer throws of 47.09 & 46.88. The former came in the Ulster Schools District Championships and if confirmed, makes the standard of 47 for the Commonwealth Youth Games.
ABBEY DOUBLE WINNERS AT BELFAST CITY MARATHON RELAY -- UPDATED
Abbey relay teams claimed two titles at the Belfast Marathon Relay on Monday 5 May, with the all-female and the mixed teams taking top honours.
MIDWEEK RESULTS
Abbey athletes have been out stretching their legs on the track, the road, and over mountains this week. Simon Murray, Judi Graham, and Gemma Turley turned out some solid early season times in the BMC Middle Distance Meet on Wed. 23 April at the Mary Peters Track.
WEEKEND RESULTS - IUAA & AAI 10K CHAMPS
Abbey athletes took to the track at the Irish Universities championships, 18-19 April in Irishtown, Dublin. Michelle Rodgers, representing the University of Ulster, captured bronze in the 400m, clocking 58.92. She also timed 26.68 over 200m, good for seventh place.
